Jewsons, the builders merchants have teamed with the South Hams Motor Club to sponsor their “Best SHMC crew” category in this weekend’s Audi South West Endurance Rally. Speaking from the company’s base on Embankment Road in Kingsbridge, Branch Manager Simon Neal said “We are delighted to support the motor club with their 2 day rally and wish all involved a great rally.”

In the news...... The rally has been featured in the Mid Devon Advertiser with a "double page spread". Excitement is now really mounting locally with the news that around 80 crews will be attempting the 500 mile event making it the largest rally in the south west. Spectator information is available elsewhere on this website for those interested in seeing the action. Get close up to the cars on Friday morning from 10am at the Racecourse, Newton Abbot!

Regular visitors to this site will know that we had 2 out of 3 crews make it to the finish of the Lombard with Andy Ballantyne winning the rally outright with driver Owen Turner!
Phil and Roger finished an excellent 8th whilst John and Chris retired with clutch failure. More details here and a radio interview with Andy B. here.

Three SHMC crews set off to tackle the Lombard Rally this weekend. Totnes man Andy Ballantyne is navigating for Owen Turner in Car 3. Roger Gillard is on the maps for Phil Harris Car 35 - both from Loddiswell and Chris Henley (Newton Abbot) is navigating for Loddiswell driver John Oldrieve - Car 65. All the best guys. Fly the flag for Devon !

Regs and entry form are now online. If you entered the 2006 or 2007 events you should receive a set in the post.
In summary.... 500 mile route which includes approx 110 off road miles on various surfaces - entry fee is £319.00
If you are new to Endurance Rallying there is a Beginner's Rally which has approx 60 competitive miles on the Saturday to give you a good "taster" of what it's all about for £199.00
