Welcome to this annual event organised by South Hams Motor Club which we hope will be useful for competitors for the 2025 season. Landowner Lloyd Stevens has kindly agreed the use of his land for practice/driver training.
We welcome local rally car preparation business Historic Motorsport (South West) Ltd who return as event sponsor for 2025 and thank Dave Boucher and team for their support.
Are you rubbish at starting? Too many revs or keep on stalling at that vital moment? Can’t fathom how to correct understeer or oversteer? Power slides and Scandinavian flicks or even the basic clutch control then this can be the ideal place to learn.
We have the full use of the venue between 10am and 3:30pm for you to do as you choose. Hopefully, this will give you the boost to your confidence for the season ahead, whether it’s rallying, sprinting, autocross or gymkhanas. A great place to do some set up work too! Get your entry in and have yourself a lot of fun.
It is entirely a practice/training event organised for the sole purpose of enabling drivers to gain experience of their vehicles.
- There is NO element of competition
- There will be NO awards
- Cars will NOT be started simultaneously
- The event is open to fully elected members of South Hams Motor Club aged 18 and over, who must hold a valid DVLA driving licence. (You can join when you submit your entry online if not already a member.)
- Passengers (aged 18 and over) will be allowed as long as they are a member of South Hams Motor Club - Pay on the day at "HQ". (Credit / debit cards or cash welcome!).
- All entrants must be 18 or over.
- Drivers and Passengers are reminded that they may have to produce Club Membership cards before collecting their track pass on the day.
- All vehicles MUST POSSESS A VALID MoT Certificate (if applicable) and an MSUK Log Book (if applicable)
- Vehicles will not be required to be taxed or insured for the public highway.
- Vehicles must comply with Motorsport UK Regulations J Competitors: Vehicles.
- ALL participants must supply and wear full overalls and helmet.

PASSENGER DETAILS
- Passenger entry fee - £12 (plus SHMC membership)
- ALL Passenger entries (must be aged 18 or over) to be made on the day at "HQ" - pay with cash or debit/credit card.
- Membership (£18 single or £23 Household) can be paid with your entry on the day.
- Once you have paid will be given a track pass.
- ALL Participants must supply and wear full overalls and helmet.

Test Day 2014 at Smeatharpe shared the venue with an AutoSolo that the club organised at the far end of the airfield.
CO2 and Climate change
As part of our commitment to:
• The protection of the environment
• Reducing the detrimental impact of events on the environment
• Improving the sustainability of motorsport in the UK
We donate a small environmental levy from our events to offset the CO2 produced by all competing vehicles, and that of the South Hams Motor Club organisers on the event. We invest this in a local tree planting scheme managed by local charity MOOR TREES to permanently offset the carbon produced and to achieve net-zero carbon for our events.
